We are an authentic, Jesus-loving, Bible-preaching church with a vision to connect hearts to Christ, His Church, and His Commission. As a passionate partner of the New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI) apostolic team, we share their dream of knowing Christ and helping to make Him known throughout all the earth.
Brief History of Outlook
Outlook Church was started on 11 February 2001 in the Arboretum Primary School Hall. Brent and Kate were sent from Urban Life Church in Midrand, where they had served as junior pastors for three years. Over the past twenty years, we have seen the dream God has for us slowly become more of a reality. Outlook Church was started in partnership with New Covenant Ministries International, an apostolic team we are still in partnership with. On the very first Sunday, there were just three of us and a dream!
The Dream
The Outlook Church dream has always been to see:
Lost people brought to salvation in Christ.
A church community of real people and real friends, functioning as a priesthood of all believers, maturing in Christ, with leaders being raised up and released into their ministries.
A base church of apostolic people who want to be a blessing to the nations and make a real difference.
We spent ten years in the Arboretum School Hall as the church grew to about 200 people. Then we bought the land we are now on and built the first building in 2010 — an amazing display of the gracious hand of God! The land and building were bought and paid for without going into any debt.
The Dream becomes reality
Over the past twenty years, we have seen the dream God has for us slowly become more of a reality. Outlook Church was started in partnership with New Covenant Ministries International (www.ncmi.net), an apostolic team we are still in partnership with. On the very first Sunday, there were just three of us and a dream!
Many people have come to know Jesus and been baptized.
A great number of people have been released into leadership and ministry.
As a base church, we are sending out teams around Richards Bay, Zululand, Swaziland, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, with doors opening for teams to travel to Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, India, and Pakistan.
Church plants are happening in Cambodia.
Our Building a Year dream has been running for the last five years and has helped build two more buildings in 2019, two in 2020, and who knows how many in the years to come?
